Turbo Recordings... On tour in Italy earlier in the year, I was given a demo from a great DJ in Turin named Sergio Ricciardone. As usual it took me about a month to listen to it…… but when I did I was blown away by a refreshing take on the minimal sound. Along with his partner Luca Baldini, these two Italians are DRAMA SOCIETY, tastefully and subtley creating dancefloor techno that manages to combine the purity of minimal with the character of electro. The result is a minimal record that you can actually play at peak time, and that has enough musical character to hold it's own. Drama Society have been touring, and recently rocked SONAR in Barcelona. The record has already been gaining support and props from Djs as diverse as Laurent Garnier, Ivan Smagghe, Jeff Mills, Riccardo Villalobos, Highfish, and many others. Turbo is proud to present their first 12inch, three tracks of slightly experimental dancefloor minimalism that defies genre.
