Turbo interviews Monsieur Monsieur about their victory in the Peanuts Club remix contest.

Monsieur, Monsieur, first of all, thanks for an excellent remix! You were unanimously selected by Noob, Brodinski, Mike Mind, and myself as the winner out of 140 entries.

Is this the single greatest moment of your musical career? How old are you?
It’s one of the greatest moments in our musical career with our remix for the shoes signed on Green United Music . We are very proud and glad to have won this remix contest. We hope it’s not the last one.... ahaha. We are 21 years old.

Who would you rather remix, Tiga or Peter Gabriel? (This is OVO-era P-Gabe we're talking about.)
Definetly Tiga, because we ‘ve been addicted to his song for a long time now.

If you could remix anyone in the world, who would it be? Limit yourself to musicians, please. You can't remix Magnum P.I.. What would that even mean?
We listen to a lot of tracks every day and there are some artists like Emmanuel  or Style of Eyes we really love and it would be crazy to put some of our ideas in their tracks.

If you could get anyone to remix you, who would that be?
We would love to have such artists like : Alan Fitzpatrick, Len faki, Brodinski working on our songs and have their own vision of one of our track.

Do you have any releases 'out,' i.e. can people pay for your music or are they unjustly forced to download it for free?
At the moment we haven’t got an E.P out butwe have our remix for The Shoes on most of the digital platforms and soon our remix for Myd, of the song Train To Bamako.
We have just finished our new E.P unsigned yet. We prefer to take our time and do things well.

Who do you think should be the villain in the next Batman movie? You seem like KGBeast guys to me.
We used to watch a lot of batman comics on T.V and we were really fans of one villain, he is a sand or a mudd man but sorry we can’t remember his name.
Or in the real life Tekitek the sound pellegrino boss would be perfect in a sort of Bad Santa . ahaha.

How did you come up with the name Monsieur Monsieur? Are you familiar with the American band Mr. Mister? Does the prospect of answering that question over and over again make any kind of success seem like a losing proposition?
We are not familiar with the American band Mr. Mister and had never heard about them before.
We were drunk & doing some music at Léo ( aka Mr.C ) ‘s flat and we came up with this name by hasard. We found it cool and easy to remember,so we took this name because we had to find some name for our first gigs one year and a half ago with Yuksek & Brodinski for the 14th of July which is the national day in France.

What do you think of the prize we offered? Would the inclusion of a T-shirt as an incentive made your remix any better?
In fact we haven’t made the remix for the prize, we liked the Peanuts Club Song and we wanted to make something with it, it was a bit difficult  because all the remix on the E.P were good,so we tried to make something good too but different. We have made three different attempts to finish with this one.
But thanks for the 10 000 $! you should’nt have…

If Turbo were to offer you a record deal where we kept all the profits, would you sign it out of respect or desperation?
Of course we would  sign it by respect. Turbo is one of our favorite labels and we have a lot of respect for artists like Matt Walsh, Brodinski, Noob. On the other hand,  we will never sign a record deal in any label if its with desperation.
